In the light of recent gasoline price rise, the garbageman in my neighborhood decided to raise the usual garbage-collecting-service fee from Rp 15,000 to a whopping Rp 20,000!

I was like, ‘Dude, are you out of your mind? Thats 33.33% rise! ‘

Yes thats right, 10.33 percent higher that the expected average gasoline price increase, yet he didn’t use gasoline directly for his line of work.

I know that he is not exactly a rich person because he doesn’t drive a Ferari or wear Armani suit, but at the very least, doesn’t he has any business ethics at all? Like not scrapping quick profits from your customers out of this national mess.

I really don’t mind to spend extra five grands to have my garbage bin emptied daily, but this kind of attitude that makes gasoline price increase becomes such a big deal.

1PS: If you are wondering why this post is titled ‘Mr Garbageman bring me a trash’, it is infact a spinoff from Chet Atkins’ 1955 hits ‘Mr Sandman.’ The original lyric was: ‘Mr Sandman bring me a dream.’

The words “Business Ethics” and “Indonesians” should never be used in the same sentence. I remember shaking hands on a lease for 50 million a year however 2 weeks later at the Notaris Office when the papers were due to be signed, it became 60 million!!! Indonesian people are really lovely people, (if you have fiqured out their culture)but mix business, FORGET IT!
