M. Night Shyamalan is one of my my favorite director/screenwriter. The Alfred Hithcock of the new century, his work is noted for its eerie moods, unusual characters, unpredictable story development and twisted endings.

I’m a huge fan of his work, including his masterpiece The Sixth Sense (starring Bruce Willis1 and that smart-but-also-smartass-wunderkid Haley Joel Osment) and the underrated: The Village.

Whats so interesting about this Indian-born director is, he literally wrote the screenplay and acted (as less imporant role) in every movie he directed.

1 I salute Bruce Willis for his performance in this movie because he managed to escape from his usual Die Hard tough-guy stereotype.
